Influencers Aren’t Experts

As traditional media
is now controlled by the billionaires,
I follow experts
on social media
to hear the truth
about what the f*ck is going on
and to make better decisions.

Influencers aren’t experts
(in anything other than
being influencers).

Influencers have
large followings
because they tell people
what they want to hear.

They tell people,
for example,
the pandemic is over
and they don’t have to mask.

They tell people,
as another example,
climate change is reversible
and they don’t have to
change their lifestyles at all.

Experts tend to have
much smaller followings
because they tell people
the brutal truth.

They tell people
the pandemic is far from over,
people are dying every day from COVID,
there are other much more severe pandemics
on the horizon
and everyone who values their brain
and their health
should mask.

They tell people
climate change will increase exponentially
in intensity,
that this was the hottest year
in history
yet will be the coldest year
when compared to the future,
and we have to change
almost everything about our lifestyles
to survive that future.

No one wants to hear that sh*t.

I definitely don’t want to hear it.

Yet I force myself to listen
because it impacts my business
and my own survival.

Very few people will do the same, however.

True experts don’t gain
large followings.

Influencers aren’t experts.

Reach out to influencers
for marketing help.
They’re brilliant at that.

But ignore what they have to say
about other issues.

How To Gain A Strategic Advantage

I’ve been following the disaster
that is this year’s
Giro d’Italia.

Day after day,
top competitors
have dropped out
due to COVID.

It has become
quite clear
that one of the biggest
strategic advantages
in that race
will be
merely staying healthy.

I strongly believe
that is true now
in ALL fields,
not only competitive racing.

Staying healthy
or healthier
means we’re able to do more sh*t,
go more places,
think clearly.

All of that
will increase our chances
of success.

Do what you can
to stay as healthy as possible.

COVID And Decision-Making

A business building buddy
told me yesterday
she was tired of
hearing about COVID.
She just wanted
it to be over.

Tough sh*t.
As business builders,
we don’t have
the luxury
to pretend it is over.

First,
COVID isn’t over.
People continue
to die
and get sick
and develop permanent issues
(like brain damage)
from COVID
every dang day.

With everyone,
except the wealthy
and the powerful,
dropping precautions,
COVID is likely to be with us
for the rest of our lives.

The impacts on our businesses
will definitely remain.
COVID has changed the world
permanently.

We have more prospects
and customers
using wheelchairs.

We have more prospects
and customers
requiring reminders
due to their COVID-caused
brain damage.

We have more employees
and partners
out sick
because COVID
is still here.

As business builders,
we NEED to continue
talking about COVID
and the impacts on
our businesses.

It is unfortunate
but it is reality.

Omicron And The Unvaccinated

Very few people
will talk or post
about this extremely concerning
business issue
but here at client k,
we don’t shy away
from the ‘insensitive’ discussions.

In the near future,
perhaps today,
our unvaccinated employees,
business partners, suppliers,
others,
will become seriously ill
and could possibly die.

With the Omicron variant,
that is almost certain.
It is HIGHLY transmissible.

And if Omicron doesn’t impact them,
the variant that will eventually
evolve from Omicron
likely will.

We’re doing a sh*t job
globally
and especially in the US
of stopping COVID.

What does this mean
for business builders?

We have to prepare
for the unvaccinated
to become seriously ill
or worse.

We need backups for that person.
We need them to cross train
with the vaccinated
(preferably virtually).
We need to have copies
of what they are working on.
We need to prepare.

The unvaccinated will require
time off
with NO notice given.
Plan for that.
