Impostor Syndrome

Impostor syndrome is
the fear of being exposed
as a fraud.

We enter a room
filled with successful people
and think we don’t deserve
to be there.

Or

Someone views us as an expert
yet we realize how much
about the topic
we DON’T know.

I once held an online workshop
on my niche
and found out the best selling writer
in that niche
was attending it.
I thought for certain
she’d expose me as a fraud.

(She didn’t.
She told me after the workshop
I gave her new insights
on the niche.
And her attendance verified
for the other attendees
that I was an ‘expert.’)

The thing is…
most of us feel this way.

There is no way
we can know EVERYTHING
about a topic.
Luck is always a factor
in any success
and intelligent people know that.

You WILL feel
like an impostor sometimes.
That is normal.

Act like you belong
or deserve the honor
and you’ll likely find out
you truly do.
