Yesterday, I was talking
with a newer writer.
She worried she couldn’t compete
against the more established writers.
She considered me
to be one of those writers.
When I first started
publishing my romance novels
(releasing my products),
the situation for me
was very similar.
There were thousand of writers
(competitors)
with more books released
and bigger readerships
than I had.
I released my books anyway.
Now, I have more books
and a bigger readership
than many of those writers.
Quitting merely
because you’re behind
is a trap,
a form of hiding that feels safe,
but isn’t.
The math is simple:
whatever you switch to
because you quit is another place
you’re going to be behind as well.
It’s not a race,
it’s a journey.
And the team that scores first
doesn’t always win.”
You’ll always start ‘behind’.
Don’t allow that to stop you.
