I was asked
to write a blog post
on the history
of a subgenre of romance
I currently write in.
I said ‘yes’,
thinking it would be
an easy task.
It was a large subgenre.
All I should have
to do
is a couple of searches
on Google
and I’d have the information
I needed.
Except the information
wasn’t there.
Information on smaller subgenres
existed.
Information on this subgenre
did not.
Someone should compile
this information
before it is lost,
I said to myself.
And then I realized
I should be that someone.
At the very least,
I should start the project
as that
is the most difficult part.
This project
won’t benefit me
financially
but the next project
might.
If something needs
to be done,
consider leading the effort.
