When interviewing,
don’t bother asking
anyone in a manager position
or above
whether they’re a people person
or a task person.
It’ll just irritate the applicant.
Anyone with half a brain
will answer that they’re a people person.
It is challenging to reach the higher levels
without being a people person.
That you’re asking that standard question
raises questions in the applicant’s mind
about what type of business you’re running.
As Lee Iacocca once said
“Anyone who doesn’t get along with people
doesn’t belong in this business,
because that’s all we’ve got around here.”
