Today is Columbus Day
in the U.S.
Christopher Columbus
was a failure.
His goal when he sailed
to the Americas
was to reach the Orient.
Yet many people
celebrate him today,
seeing him as
one of the greatest explorers.
There are statues
and schools
and buildings named after him.
My most recent book
is a financial success
(by my terms).
The book I released before that one
was a financial disaster
(by everyone’s terms).
If you’re attempting to do
something new,
you will fail.
You decide, however,
if that failure sticks,
if that is how you’ll be remembered.
