Deliver On Your Promises

In a previous post,
I suggested
arranging
dedicated ‘fun’ times
with loved ones
scheduled after
the busy holiday season
is over.

This is ONLY effective
if we KEEP
our promises
and MAKE those precious appointments.

That ‘meeting’ with loved ones
is unbreakable.
Our building could be on fire
and we should still show up
at that appointment.

Because the moment
we break that promise,
our promises become worthless,
any future arrangements
mean nothing,
and
the trust is gone.

As it should be.

If we make arrangements
with loved ones,
we have to
KEEP those appointments.

We should treat our loved ones
as the priority they are.

Loved Ones Of Business Builders Should Understand

These next two months
are extremely busy
for many business builders.

For some of us,
Holiday sales
make the difference
between having
a profitable year
and losing money.

I remind all my loved ones
of this fact.

I tell them
they likely won’t see me much
during November and December
and part of January.

I give them ways
to help me
during this time.

If they want to see me,
they know
they’ll be helping
with the business
while they’re doing that.

And I schedule time with them,
fun time,
relaxing time
at the end of January
or early February.

This is our busy time.
Ensure our loved ones
know that.
And ensure they also know
they ARE our loved ones.

Donate To Charity/Thrift Shops Now

Yesterday, we talked about
donating extra office supplies
to back to school efforts.

While we’re sorting through
those office supplies,
we could also sort through
the other things
we have in our businesses
and our homes.

Charity/thrift shops
have holiday shoppers also.

They would more appreciate
donations
ahead of that busy season
than at any other time
of the year.

I’m donating gently used toys,
collectables,
gifts I will never use,
other things.

This is clearing out
my spaces
and it will give some holiday joy
to others.

Donate to thrift/charity shops
now.

Cardi B, Patti LaBelle And Visible Mentorship

Mentorship is often
a private relationship.
We don’t usually see
who is mentoring who.

One of the many things
I love about the holiday season
is the passing on
of knowledge
from established singers
to up and coming stars
(and often vice versa)
is much more visible.

We see Patti LaBelle spending time
with Cardi B.
We see Elton John spending time
with Ed Sheeran.
We see Mariah Carey spending time
with Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson.

And we know
knowledge is being shared.
Businesses are being
strengthened.
The odds of lasting success
are being increased.

Consider spending time
(in person or online)
with people
you respect
and admire.

You and your business
should benefit
from that experience.

Storage IS An Issue

I donate new and gently used goods
to charity shops
in November.

I time it
that way
so the charity shops
have new stock
during their busy holiday seasons
and
they don’t have to store
those items
for a long time.

Storage is often
an issue.

I’ve shared posts
in the past
recommending business builders
have a backup
for critical machinery and devices.

This only makes sense
if we have storage room
for those machines and devices.

If we have to pay
to store them elsewhere,
it is often more efficient
to not have a backup on hand
and to save those rental fees
for emergency machinery rentals.

Always ask yourself
where you will store an item.
