Deliver On Your Promises

In a previous post,
I suggested
arranging
dedicated ‘fun’ times
with loved ones
scheduled after
the busy holiday season
is over.

This is ONLY effective
if we KEEP
our promises
and MAKE those precious appointments.

That ‘meeting’ with loved ones
is unbreakable.
Our building could be on fire
and we should still show up
at that appointment.

Because the moment
we break that promise,
our promises become worthless,
any future arrangements
mean nothing,
and
the trust is gone.

As it should be.

If we make arrangements
with loved ones,
we have to
KEEP those appointments.

We should treat our loved ones
as the priority they are.

Loved Ones Of Business Builders Should Understand

These next two months
are extremely busy
for many business builders.

For some of us,
Holiday sales
make the difference
between having
a profitable year
and losing money.

I remind all my loved ones
of this fact.

I tell them
they likely won’t see me much
during November and December
and part of January.

I give them ways
to help me
during this time.

If they want to see me,
they know
they’ll be helping
with the business
while they’re doing that.

And I schedule time with them,
fun time,
relaxing time
at the end of January
or early February.

This is our busy time.
Ensure our loved ones
know that.
And ensure they also know
they ARE our loved ones.

Lack Of Interest From Family Members

As we head into the holiday season,
some of us will be gathering
with friends, family and other loved ones.

Very few of our loved ones
will have any interest
in our businesses,
the focus of so much
of our time.

That can hurt.
Our businesses can be
the embodiment of
our hopes and dreams.
They are so important to us.

But that loved one
likely has something else
they’re focused on,
something just as important
to them.
They have their own sh*t
to think about,
to talk about.

And, over these last couple years,
especially,
they likely have other worries,
worries they are trying their best
not to burden you with.

Their lack of interest
does not equate to
lack of love.

Focus on the wonderful fact
that your loved ones are physically there.
And save the business chats
for business associates.
