Writers do this all the time.
They post links to Facebook
on Twitter
or links to Instagram
on Facebook.
The message is usually something like
“I posted about my book on Facebook.”
and then the link is provided.
They assume,
like themselves,
their target market
is on all social media platforms.
(Which leads to me
wondering why they bother
posting on all the different
social media platforms.)
People choose a certain platform
because it suits their needs.
They don’t want to go
to a different platform
to find out what the f*ck
you are trying to sell them.
They want to stay where they are.
Copy and paste the core message
to all platforms.
Provide a link
if you wish
to more information
but don’t expect your target
to click on it
Make your message
stand on its own.
Don’t ask your target market
to move off their preferred
social media platform.
