Social Media Is A Different Industry

I am a heavily curated
version
of myself on social media
and I am a writer,
someone who sells fantasies,
who sells drama,
entertainment.

I am still
not dramatic enough,
not outrageous enough
to be a social media darling.

I make MY readers happy
and I reach some new readers
with my social media activities
but I am not a star on those platforms
by any means.

That’s because getting to that level
is a full time job.
It likely means
the person isn’t
doing much else.
They aren’t building
off social media businesses
or writing books
not using social media content
or developing
non social media products.

If we don’t plan
on making social media
our entire roles,
we should concentrate
on serving our customers/prospects
on social media,
not becoming
social media stars.
