Newer writers
often ask me
about
my most effective
promotion tactics.
At my pen name’s (brand’s)
current stage,
pricing the first book
in a series
at free permanently
(sampling)
is one of the best promotions
I can engage in.
That is one of the worst tactics
for brand new writers.
They might only have
one or two books released.
Pricing one of those at free
would be a disaster income-wise.
And it would be completely
unnecessary.
There are better tactics
for writers who are
just starting out.
When asking for advice,
always relay
where you are growth-wise.
Preface your question with
“If you were just starting out…”
or
“If you were a mid-sized
business…”
What works for
a billion dollar company
or a serial entrepreneur
is unlikely to work
for a first time entrepreneur’s
first business.
Match your promotions
to the level of your business.
