During this crisis,
I’ve noticed two things
about the writing community
– many people are taking
this opportunity
to write their first books
and
many writers are quitting.
They’re walking away
from the Romance Novel Business.
I suspect this is happening
in your industry also.
The crisis is impacting
everything.
It is changing everything.
Change is hard.
It creates stress.
And that stress can break
people and businesses.
They might not have
the willpower, the resources,
the wanting
to adapt.
So they quit voluntarily
or they are pushed out.
Change also creates opportunity.
It results in new wants, new needs.
Change inspires new solutions
and it pushes us
to change with it.
New businesses are born.
In the Romance Novel Industry,
these two occurrences
are almost perfectly offset.
In your industry,
there might be more of one
than the other
or
it might fluctuate.
Any imbalances
will cause even more change.
This is a time of crisis,
a time of change
and
change creates more change.
Expect older businesses around you
to die
and new businesses to start.
Accept this will happen.
