If You Want Exceptional…

If you want exceptional,
you have to take some risks.

Some writers
choose pre-made covers
for their books.
These covers are already crafted.
They are usually
very similar to what
other books have
as their covers.
They are safe,
average,
fast to obtain,
and the cost for them
is fairly low.

I always have
my covers crafted
especially for me.
They give readers
what they expect
from the niche
and a little bit more.
There’s unique branding,
usually a little twist on the expected.

These covers cost more
– both in dollars
and in time.
It often takes a couple of tries
to get the cover
exactly right.

But they are exceptional,
they sell books
on their own,
and I believe
they’re worth it.

Seth Godin
shares

“Most TV ads,
most car services,
most airplane flights
–they’re mediocre.
That’s a choice.

If you want
to buy creative work
that’s exceptional,
you’ll need
to pay for it
(and accept the risk
that it might not work out
as planned).”

Consider paying
for the exceptional.
