I’m in
a very happy
interfaith, interracial relationship.
Some of my readers (customers)
want people like
my loved one
dead
and they’re now open
about that.
I know that
yet I haven’t unfriended them
on Facebook.
Why?
Because I would rather
know what they were planning
and thinking
than
be surprised by it.
And I’m ever hopeful
they will realize judging people
by the color of their skin
or the books they use
to worship
is idiotic.

There are reasons
to stay connected
with someone whose beliefs
you find abhorrent.
