I’m known as
someone who will pep up people,
who will increase someone’s energy.
That’s my role
and I’m conscious of it.
I’m also conscious of the downsides.
People who constantly drain
other people’s energy
are attracted to me.
They are an unfillable well,
a black hole where energy goes in
and never comes back out.
If I’m not careful,
they will drain me dry
and leave me with nothing
for myself
or for other people.
So I guard my energy.
I avoid these energy vampires
until I have accomplished
what I need to accomplish
in the day.
“Some people,
every time they engage
with others,
are an energy drain.
They take persuading,
cajoling and enthusiasm
to get going,
and require ever more of it
to keep going.
And some people are a faucet,
an endless pipeline of possibility,
potential and forward motion.”
Know who you are
and develop tactics
to effectively manage
your own energy.
If you’re an energy vampire,
partially pep yourself up
by watching videos
or reading blog posts
or repeating motivation sayings
or by using a number of other tactics.
THEN deal with other people.
If you have energy to spare,
use a portion of that energy
for your own purposes first.
THEN share it with other people.
Manage your energy.
