When I was a kid,
I decided I would,
one day,
be financially successful.
This seemed like
an impossible dream
for someone like me.
I was dirt poor.
We didn’t eat every day.
We didn’t have indoor plumbing.
Simply living
was a struggle.
But I was determined,
held onto that goal,
found mentors to guide me
and I worked hard.
I achieved
that seemingly impossible dream
(my view of it).

“I grew up in a situation
that was seemingly less than ideal,
however I always had
a strong sense of purpose
for my life.
This really helped me
navigate situations
that seemed hopeless
or when I would face failure
in any aspect of my life.
When I resolved that
I would be successful
no matter what,
it changed my perspective
on the trials that I faced.
I really learned
how to pick my battles
and not to let my failures or shortcomings
define my future,
instead,
they helped shape my story.”
The first step
to becoming successful
is deciding to become successful.
You can do it.
I believe in you.
