I grew up dirt poor.
My family worked hard
and had intelligence
but all they knew was
how to be poor.
They knew the poor rules
by heart.
They didn’t know
how to be middle class.
That was an entirely different set
of rules
and a different database
of knowledge.
For example,
they didn’t know things
like interest rates
and the cost of vehicles
could be negotiated.
They always took
the very first offer
thinking that was the way
it was done.
There were a million (or more)
little things like that
they did ‘the poor way’
because they didn’t know
‘the middle class way’
to do it.
I was lucky.
My Mom, seeing how driven I was,
encouraged me
to seek out mentors.
THEY taught me the knowledge
I needed to be middle class.
Then I found mentors
who taught me
how to become wealthy.
“The thing is:
a 1x contributor can’t become
a 10x
merely by working ten times as hard.
The physics of time won’t allow it,
certainly,
but it’s also because
10x doesn’t work
on the same axis.
It’s not about more effort.
It’s about more insight.”
I can guarantee you’re doing
at least one task
‘the poor way.’
That’s one of the reasons
why you’re not
at the next level.
Make 2019 the year
you learn how to reach
that next level.
