Surveys Vs Reality

Recently, an organization
within the Romance Novel Business
released the results
of a survey.

The survey results said
most romance readers
read print books.

That’s bullsh*t.
Sales data states
most romance readers
read eBooks.

Years ago,
I worked in New Business Development
at a major quick service restaurant.
We surveyed people
as they exited locations.

One of the questions we
asked
was whether or not
they ordered fries.
We could see many of them
through the windows.
We saw they ordered fries
and ate them happily.

Almost everyone surveyed
said they did NOT order fries.
They gave us
the answers they thought
they should give.

Surveys do not always
reflect reality.
Always choose
real results
over survey results.
