I recently released
the last book in a series.
It was a well-loved series
and some readers
really wanted it to continue
forever.
But there is also
a large group of readers
who are HAPPY
I complete series.
Normally this last group of readers
will wait for an entire series
to be completed
before starting it.
But I have a reputation
for always completing series
so they make an exception
for me
and read mine along
with the rest of my readers.
This increases my cash flow earlier,
which is better for my business.
When I was a project manager,
I had the same reputation.
I completed projects.
The projects wouldn’t continue forever.
I’d end them.
There were some projects
I wasn’t suited to lead,
the ones that intentionally go on
forever.
But there were MANY more projects
that needed to eventually end.
I was the go-to project manager for those.
There will be pressure
to continue projects indefinitely.
Consider resisting that pressure.
There ARE rewards
for ending projects.
