When You Only Need One ‘Yes’

A loved one is looking for a job.
He has applied for
hundreds of positions,
which will result in
hundreds of rejections
(either they will reject him
or he will reject them).
Why?
Because he’s only looking
for ONE job.
There will be only ONE ‘yes.’

Another loved one
is looking for funding
for her start up.
She has been facing rejection
after rejection
and that’s okay.
Why is it okay?
She’s only looking to work with
ONE financial backer.
That’s all she needs.

“If you’re working on a project
that needs just one funder,
one publisher,
one partner,
it doesn’t matter
how many other people
didn’t like your idea.

And there’s no extra credit (zero)
for getting a ‘yes’
from the first person you ask.”

If you only need one ‘yes’,
you don’t need
to please everyone else.
