Everything Is Public

A ‘game’ in the
Romance Novel industry
is to trick a well known writer
into saying something stupid
in a private conversation
(preferably online)
and then share
that private conversation
with the world.

I assume anything
I do or say
will be made public.
I can count on the fingers
of one hand
the people I truly trust
to keep private conversations
private.

This is especially true
when I deal with my readers
(customers).

They are even more likely
to share private conversations
because their one interaction
with me
is often their entire perception
of me.

Beth Davidson,
owner of
Dragonfly Shops & Gardens,
shares

“All of the retail world
truly is a stage nowadays.
Business owners are wise
to keep that in mind
when they interact with customers.
When you’re talking to one client,
you’re potentially talking to
hundreds or even thousands.”

Assume everything
you do and say
is not only public
but will be repeated
to everyone you know
and will know in the future.
