Reassuring Your Customers

I offered to critique
a bunch of stories
from brand new writers
in my niche.

One of the most common issues
these writers struggled with
was not reassuring readers
as soon as possible
that they had picked up
the right story.

Readers, when picking up a romance,
for example,
are expecting a relationship-based story.
If there’s no hint of any type of relationship
in the first chapter,
they begin to worry
they’ve been tricked.

We ALL do this
with EVERY purchase.

As sellers,
we need to reassure customers,
give them a hint
that their buy was the right one.

That might mean
giving the customer a quick partial fix
as we work on the long term fix
or showing them a progress report,
outlining exactly that – progress
or treating restaurant customers to bread
while they wait for their food to arrive.

As soon as possible,
reassure customers
they made the right choice.
