Offset The Bad

Building a business
or any other type of creating
requires optimism.
We have to believe
the product/service
we’re designing
will be successful.

That’s challenging to do
when we’re surrounded
by negative news.

I have
coping mechanisms
the work for me
to change the bad to good.

For example,
I try to do one good thing
to offset any bad thing
that impacts me.

Today, I heard about someone
hurting an elderly person.
I then sent a postcard
with a bad joke on it
to residents of
a senior citizen residence.

These ‘good’ things
are usually small things.
I pick up a piece of garbage
at a park.
I retweet promo
from a newer writer.
I put a can of soup
in the food bank collection bin.

But they buoy my optimism
and they help the world
a tiny bit.

I’m then ready
to help the world
a HUGE bit
by building my business.

Develop coping mechanisms
that restore your optimism,
that change the bad to good
for you.
