If Your Marketing Bores You…

I was writing
the second chapter
of a new book yesterday.

I was bored.

The chapter bored me.
The characters bored me.

I scrapped it
and am starting again.
Because if the story bores me
now,
the first time I see it,
it will likely bore readers.

This is how I feel about marketing.
If a marketing campaign
bores me
the first time I bring it to life,
it will likely bore
the target market.

It WILL bore me
the 100th time I look at it,
when I fine-tune and tweak it.
But it should never bore me
the first time I see it.

If your marketing bores you,
consider re-doing it.
