My target market
for my Romance Novels
are readers.
That’s what they do – read.
Yet I ALWAYS
mention the niche
of my book
at least twice
in my book descriptions.
Why?
Because readers tend to skim
book descriptions.
They look for key words.
If they see the key word,
they investigate more
or they move
directly to buying.
If they don’t see
the key word
in their first skimming
of the description,
they don’t buy.
Having the key words
in the description twice
ensures readers buy.
The redundancy is worth
the precious real estate it takes.
“Sometimes,
we assume that
the person we’re engaging with
knows exactly what we mean
and
want to express.
But that assumption
is often wrong,
and a little redundancy
can go a long way.”
If it is important,
say it twice.
