Letters To The Editor

In the past,
the news
might have served
truth.

Today,
it serves advertisers
and
advertisers want
eyeballs,
which means,
inadvertently,
the news serves us.

If we want
truthful reporting,
we have to tell
reporters
and editors
and producers
of the news
we value
truthful reporting.

I do this
by writing
letters to the editor
or to the news programs.

You might think
that wouldn’t do much.
I’m merely one person.

But most people
don’t write
letters to their news sources.

As a writer,
I receive approximately
1 review
for every 500 books
I sell.

I suspect the ratio
of letter writers
to viewers/readers
of news sources
is MUCH lower.

My letter represents
the views of
at least 500 viewers.
THAT makes
an impact.

If you want
honest news reporting,
tell your news sources.

If you want
more coverage
of small businesses
in your area,
tell them.

If you want
more coverage
of your industry,
you guessed it,
tell them.
