Listen When Partners Say No

I was invited
to be part of a project.
I had to turn down
the opportunity.

The organizer told me
she would add me
to the organizing group anyway.

I told her
I preferred she didn’t
add me to the group.
I would never change my mind
about the project.

She didn’t respect
that ‘no’
and added me to the group.

I will never work
with this writer
ever again.

When a partner,
Hell, when ANYONE
says ‘no,’
LISTEN to that ‘no.’

Address her arguments
if you believe
you can change her mind
but respect and HEAR
that ‘no.’

And if the ‘no’
remains a ‘no’,
either discard
the project
or
work with someone else.
