A buddy of mine
is between executive roles.
Deliberately.
You would think
she’d be taking it easy,
relaxing
between highly stressful
positions.
She’s taking a short term
volunteer leadership role
at a local food bank.
Why?
Because, as she told me,
there is a great need
for leadership,
especially right now.
Some of the leaders
at the food bank
were called away
to help with
the pandemic,
with natural disasters,
with protests.
She is filling
one of those roles
temporarily.
What does
she gain from this?
She gains
a feeling of accomplishment,
a chance to give back, to help,
connections with other leaders,
connections with other people
in our society
she might not have otherwise
encountered,
more experience leading,
and
many other things.
The world needs your leadership,
especially at this moment.
If you can,
provide it.
Help people.
Make the world
a better place.
