Fiction writers tend
to be dreamers.
We create the worlds
we want to see
and often these worlds
aren’t based in reality.
Building a successful business,
however,
means taking a good hard look
at reality
and making the best decision
based on that.
I can’t merely make sh*t up
when running a business
and be successful.
I can’t pretend
reality isn’t happening
and be successful.
I can’t do nothing
and hope for a miracle
and expect
to be successful.
“Reality doesn’t care
whether or not
we believe in it,
but it’s more useful
for all of us
when we understand it.”
If we wish to be successful,
we have to base
our business decisions on reality.
This seems like no-brainer advice
but I suspect
you’re, right now, avoiding reality
in at least one aspect
in your business.
I certainly know I am.
