Ahead Of The Change

Some Costco stores
in Canada
have switched to
biodegradable meat
and produce bags
(which are indistinguishable
from the plastic versions).

No one mandated
that they switch
but I suspect Costco
knew,
as most of us do,
that someone WOULD mandate it
in the near future.

They realized
they would have to switch
so they switched
on THEIR terms,
their own timing.

They switched early
and customers,
including myself,
have noticed.

Costco turned
an eventually have-to-do
into a long term
marketing advantage.

They can now claim
FOREVER
that they were
one of the first stores
to discard
plastic bags.

There are likely
some changes
coming
in your industry.

Can you incorporate
one of these changes
a little bit early
and turn it
into a marketing advantage?
