A certain World Leader
has decided
to ignore the crisis.
He has declared it
to be over
while the numbers of dead
in his country
increase alarmingly
every day.
It isn’t over.
It will likely get worse
for the country he leads.
Many people will die
unnecessarily
because he has decided
to do nothing about the crisis.
But he’ll likely be fine.
He’s someone
who has learned
he can lose it all
and someone will always be there
to lend him more resources.
In this case,
this do nothing policy
will likely work for him again.
In the unlikely case
that the population
goes to zero,
he’ll merely ‘borrow’
people
from countries
that didn’t kill off
all their people.
You and I can’t do this.
We don’t have the option
to borrow money
from China or Russia.
We’ll find it more difficult
to replace skilled employees.
It will be even more challenging
to replace loyal customers.
We HAVE to address problems
like this crisis
if we want our businesses
and our loved ones
to survive it.
Is that difficult?
Yes.
Does that involve
a lot of hard work?
Yes.
Will we make mistakes?
Yes.
But we have to try
our best
to manage this situation.
Ignoring the problem
won’t make it go away.
