Most Business Builders Don’t Have Extra Time

Many promotion companies
targeting writers
are offering free courses
as part of their marketing.

“Take a course.
Learn new skills
while you have this extra time.”

This type of copy tells me
they know very little
about their target customer
and it makes me LESS likely
to engage their services.

Writers have no extra time.

If anything,
we have LESS time now
because we have our usual
production schedules.
The stories have to be written.
That hasn’t changed.
And we now have to adjust
to the shifting selling and marketing
environment.

If your target market
consists of business builders,
they likely don’t have any extra time.
Pitch products that will save them time,
not suck valuable time.

Oh and if you normally work in corporate
and you’re working for home
and have extra time,
be considerate of
your business building buddies.

Don’t contact us more often
than you usually would
and at times
you wouldn’t usually contact us
merely because you’re bored.

You’ll irritate the f*ck out of us
and that relays
you don’t think we actually work
on our businesses.
