My husband is a salesman.
Before the crisis,
he traveled quite a bit.
We would spend
many meals physically apart.
Often he would physically
eat alone
at restaurants
and I would physically
eat alone
at home.
But we weren’t truly alone.
He would set up his laptop
across from him.
I would set up my laptop
across from me.
And we would carry on
conversations,
have what we called
‘virtual date nights’.
It wasn’t the same thing
as physically being there
but it was a d@mn good
alternative.
Today, many of us
might be having meals
physically
apart from our loved ones.
Consider setting up
a ‘virtual meal.’
If you don’t have
laptops or phones
capable of streaming video,
audio is still a great option
…because often
the conversations
are the most important aspect
of these virtual get-togethers.
No one ever
has to eat alone.
