When I’m talking with business folks,
I call myself
the Founder of a Romance Novel Business.
When I’m talking with other writers
and the general public,
including kids,
I call myself a writer.
This earns me cool points
but does nothing
to show young women
they can be business leaders.
I SHOULD call myself
a writer
AND
Founder of a successful business.
“The results of
the online survey
— conducted by
Nanos Research
on behalf of
Plan International Canada —
found that only 10 per cent
of Canadian youth
envision a woman
when they think of a chief executive.
The survey of
1,145 females
and 1,065 males
in Canada
between the ages of 14 and 24
was conducted from Sept. 15-24.”
They envision a man
in that role
because they don’t see
or hear of
many women in it.
There’s an easy way
we can help
change this.
We can claim the role
of Entrepreneur
or CEO
or Founder.
Claim this role
and help change the world.
