I have a simple haircut.
I go to
a low cost neighborhood hair salon
to have it cut.
I’ve been going there
for over 20 years
and, for over 20 years,
the same stylists
have been cutting my hair.
Because it is a low cost salon,
they tend to cut hair quickly.
But they take time with my hair.
Why?
Because since that first appointment,
I’ve tipped big.
I can afford to go to a fancy salon.
I prefer to give the stylists
at the low cost salon
that cash.
And that investment
has paid off
VERY well for me.
Tipping well
often has great returns.
“The first thing
you’ve got to think about
if you’re going to go
to a neighborhood restaurant
more than once
tipping is an investment
because you want to
establish a relationship
with the waitstaff
to take care of you.
That’s been around
as a rule forever.”
Tip well,
especially if you plan
to frequent that business again.
