A week before
I send a story
(a product)
to my awesome editor
(to production),
I go through it
chapter by chapter
as thorough and as quickly
as possible.
My goal is to see
the full picture,
to hold the entire story
in my mind.
By this point
in writing the story
(product development),
I know the parts work.
The sentences, scenes, chapters
are great.
But I need to ensure
the entire book
(entire product)
works.
When I was part
of larger product development teams,
there would be
a dedicated person
– often the team leader –
to ensure all the pieces fit together.
As a small business builder,
I set aside time and energy
to do this
myself.
Ensure the parts of your product
fit together.
Step back
and look at the full picture.
