Always Improving

My first published story
(first shipped product)
was
okay.

I knew it was okay
because a publisher
(a third party)
bought it.

If my goal was simply
to have my books published
(which isn’t the same goal
as building a readership
or being the best),
I could have stayed
at that writing skill level.

It was adequate.

But I didn’t want to be
adequate.
I wanted to build a readership.
That requires a product
that is better than adequate.

So I strove to improve
a little bit
with each story (product).
I concentrated on parts
of the story
(product development).

I’ve done that
for over 200 stories.
Now, I’m one of the top writers
(top businesses)
in my niche.

Readers (customers)
re-read my stories.
They are willing to pay more
for them.

If you improve a little bit
with each project,
each key action,
you will eventually become
the best.
