A buddy called me yesterday.
She asked me
if I was busy.
Then she started laughing
because, as she said,
I’m ALWAYS busy.
(I WAS busy
but not too busy
to talk with her.)
Busy people often get
a lot of pushback
from not-so-busy people.
We’re told to slow down,
to relax.
We’re ridiculed
for not knowing all about
the latest hot movie
or popular TV show.
But being a busy person
has its benefits.
“The busy person
has a bias for action,
the ability to ship,
and a willingness
to contribute more than is required.
The busy person is wrong
more than most people
(if you get up to bat more often,
you’re going to have more hits
and more strike outs,
right?).
Those errors are dwarfed
by the impact they create.”
The busy person
also has sh*t she wants to accomplish
before she dies.
Often this sh*t is exciting.
Often this sh*t has the potential
to change the world.
And she’s aware
our time on this wonderful planet
is limited.
Be proud of being
a busy person.
