It Feels Like A Job

If the business you’re building
has a product/service
that you love
creating/supplying
as part of its offerings,
there WILL come a time
when creating/supplying them
feels like a job.

When I wrote
the first few Romance Novels,
producing the first drafts was pure joy.
I loved writing them.
I was eager to write them.

Over 200 stories later,
it is a job.
It’s a job I enjoy
once I force myself
to work it
but it is still a job.

This is NORMAL.
It doesn’t mean
the muse is dead
or you have writer’s/creator’s block.
It doesn’t mean
you should start a new business
or launch a new brand
or deviate from
the offerings you’re providing.

It means your hobby
is now a business.
It means you have customers
and you’re putting their needs
in front of your own.

Your business will feel
like a job eventually.
That is normal.
Prepare for it.
Don’t freak out
when it happens.

(Written as I read
about yet another writer
hopping niches
because the writing
feels like a job.)
