Don’t Be The Diversion

I don’t want to be
number one
in my niche.

I want to do well.
I want to be known
in that niche.
I want success.

But I don’t want
to be
number one.

Why?

Because being number one
means everyone
is watching you.
They want to know
your secrets.
They expect you
to represent the niche,
to give back,
to mentor a greater number
of people.

There are no expectations
of the number two
person/brand/business
in the niche.

Being number two
means less obligations
and more doing.

I still give back
but I give back
how I want to
and no one is watching me.

When asked why
he didn’t go public
with his contributions
toward education,
rap star
Nelly
shared

“It’s not about
the hoo-ha.
It’s about
the silent assassins.

It’s the ones
that move behind the scenes
that get things done.

The guy that’s
screaming on television,
he’s the diversion.

I’m not a diversion.
I’m going to get it done.”

Don’t be the diversion.
Be the person/business
getting things done.
