A loved one,
who was working
a minimum wage job,
was offered a promotion.
He turned it down.
Why?
Because he believed that
more money
meant more stress
and working harder physically.
He couldn’t handle that.
No. No. No.
I’ve never worked harder
physically
than when I was working
for minimum wage.
And I’ve never been
more stressed
than when I was working
for minimum wage.
Sure, we tend to make
more decisions
as we are paid more
but that can be LESS stressful,
not MORE stressful.
Because we have a bit more control
over every situation.
And when things go wrong,
people listen to well paid employees.
They don’t tend to listen
to minimum wage earning employees.
They tend to blame those employees,
not listen to them.
Do higher paid employees
bellyache a lot about the work
they’re doing,
complaining about how hard it is?
Of course, they do.
They might even make it seem like
they’re working harder than you.
But that doesn’t mean
it is reality.
Investigate
before you turn down
opportunities.
