Our only essential goal
in life
is to get older,
is to survive the current day,
experience the next.
Everything else
is a bonus.
We should plan
on getting older,
which means
we should also plan
to be older business builders.
We tend to gain
biases
when we get older.
We tend to be
less open to change.
We tend to stop
trying to understand
younger generations.
Hell, we stop
LISTENING
to younger generations.
This is NORMAL
but it is also
VERY dangerous.
It is how businesses
eventually die.
Know the warning signs.
When was the last time
you asked advice
from someone much younger than you?
When was the last time
you took a course/workshop
from someone younger than you?
When was the last time
you took a course/workshop
on something
you know very little about?
Have you ever blamed an entire generation
for something?
Are you gaining insights about a generation
from the internet or memes
instead of from actual people
in that generation?
What is the newest device
or program/app
you use?
Staying current
and open to new ideas
takes work
and it requires conscious thought.
If you want you
and your business
to stay relevant,
fight bias
as you grow older
(and you WILL grow older).
