Building In A Buffer Might Benefit You

One of the most popular strategies
in the Romance Novel Business
is releasing quickly and often.

Some pen names (brands)
release books (product)
once a month
or more.

They promise their readers
(customers)
to release that quickly.

Which is fine,
except it leaves no buffer.
One hiccup,
one unexpected occurrence
and they miss their deadline.
They disappoint readers.

Disappointed readers
are less likely
to buy the next book.

I release a book
every two months.
Two months is doable.
If I complete a book faster
(laughs),
I can build a backlog.
That’s handy
if something REALLY
goes wrong.

Seth Godin
shares

“Competitive environments
push profit seekers
to reduce slack and
to play a short-term game.

If your organization hits the wall,
the market will survive,
because we have other options.

But that doesn’t mean
you will survive.”

Consider building some buffer
or slack
into your system.
