What Is In It For Them?

A writer contacted me.
She asked me
how I promote my books.
I told her a number of ways.
She dismissed each one.

Then I mentioned
giving away the first book in a long series
(sampling).

THAT was what
she seemed to have been
waiting for.

She harangued me for over a week,
sending me charts and other information
about how giving away books
doesn’t increase sales.

She was…passionate
and I suspect her zeal
wasn’t around improving my sales.

She was trying to change my mind
because it suited HER agenda.
It benefited HER.

I’ll continue with my successful strategy.
