Make The Decision And Move On

I have a loved one
who delays making decisions
for as long as possible.
He worries about decisions,
talks about them,
debates them.
Then, once he has made
a decision,
he’ll worry about whether or not
he has made the right decision.

He gets very little
accomplished because of this.
All of his day
revolves around
not making decisions.

I make a decision
as quickly as I can
and I move on.
If I discover it is
the wrong decision,
I’ll correct it
by making another decision.
Quickly.
With the information
that is available
at that moment.

Seth Godin
shares

“The snooze button
is a trap.
It’s a trap because
not only do you have
to decide later,
but you just expended
time and energy
to deciding to decide later.

Do it once, move on.

‘Decide once’
is a magical
productivity commitment.

There is a certain class
of decision
that benefits from time.
Decisions where more information
is in fact useful.

But most of the time,
we’re busy making decisions
that should be made now
or not at all.”

Make the decision
and move on.
You have other sh*t
to do.
