Many of my romance novels
are over 200 pages long.
That provides a lot of content.
There are dozens,
perhaps hundreds of ways
I can promote these stories.
Here’s a common premise.
He’s a scarred beast-like rich Duke.
She’s a plain Bluestocking
daughter of a financially ruined Earl.
Almost every word in that description
is an angle a writer (business builder)
could promote the story (product)
with.
And that doesn’t even include
the setting or plot or villains.
One of our goals,
as business builders
and as marketers,
is to find THE angle
that best connects with prospects,
that might push the product
into the realms of viral marketing.
“Our job as marketers
is to do the hard work
of finding and nurturing
charismatic ideas
we can be proud of.
One place to start
is to look at the ideas
you’re trying to spread.
Consider whether
they’re charismatic enough
to earn the effort
you’re putting into them
–and if not,
how to replace them
with ideas that are.”
There are many ways
to promote a product or service.
Find the angle
most likely to connect
and go viral.
