Don’t Interfere With Business Relationships

A writer-editor relationship
is about as close a partnership
as can be found in
the Romance Novel Business.

Finding the right editor
can takes years.
Once a writer finds that right editor,
she will often follow that editor
from publisher to publisher.

I share a freelance editor
with another writer.
This writer
has been telling our editor
about every comment I make,
everything I do.

She is deliberately interfering
with my relationship with my editor.
That is the equivalent of declaring war.

She’s a newer writer.
I’m assuming she didn’t know
how big of a transgression this was.

Our editor has talked with her.
If it happens again,
I will consider it to be aggression
and I will deal with her.

This applies to
ALL close business partnerships.

If an outsider interferes
with that partnership,
consider it to be a sign of aggression
and
deal with it.

If you interfere
with another being/entity’s partnership,
realize you have just declared war.
Prepare for it.
