I complete three drafts
of every story
before I show it to anyone.
When I’ve completed those three drafts,
I usually think the story
is pretty darn good.
Then I send it to my editor
and I find out it isn’t.
Sometimes she asks me
to completely re-write it.
She always needs three more rounds
of edits and revisions.
We can’t judge our own work.
Which is why we need
honest experienced people
to tell us
if our work IS okay.
Some business builders
get these opinions
from customers
when their products/services
are released.
I prefer to get opinions
BEFORE my readers (customers)
see the product,
preferably before
I’ve invested a lot of
time and money into the product.
You can’t judge your own work.
If it is important
that your work be a certain standard,
ask for honest opinions on it.
