The Passion Will Come

Most people think
writers bound out of bed
every morning,
eager to put words on the page,
excited and passionate
about our work.

That’s a myth.
Most days,
I have to force myself
to write.
Once I start working,
THEN I rediscover my passion
for writing,
not the other way around.

Seth Godin
shares

““Offer me a chance
to contribute,
and I’ll work hard on it,
with focus,
and
once I begin to make progress,
I’ll become passionate about it.”

Work before passion
measures our craft
in terms of contribution,
not in an idealized model of perfection.

Passion comes
from feeling needed,
from approaching mastery,
from doing work that matters.”

Start the work.
THEN the passion should come.
