The Business Partner You Marry

Last night, I spent 3 hours
helping my salesman husband
fine tune his pitch
to a major prospect.

Last week,
my husband spent a day
helping me
craft our Romance Novel Business plan
for the next three years.

I’ve signed confidentiality agreements
for companies
my husband has worked for.
These companies ASSUMED
I would be helping him
with his role.

It is very challenging
to work at the executive level
or build a successful business
without accepting help
from the business partners
we’ve married.

This help could be
directly with the business
or it could be
with the gazillion non-business tasks
we have to tackle every day.

“In the Bezos marriage,
the partners are equals.
Jeff and MacKenzie
started the company together.
And they worked side by side.
When the company was big
and they had four kids,
MacKenzie took half the load (kids)
and Jeff took half the load (work).”

If you have a spouse,
he could be one of the deciding factors
whether you’re successful or not.
ASK for his help.

Male business builders and executives
don’t become successful
on their own.
Play by those same rules.
